Y2Y Breaks Ground On Youth-Guided Shelter Design

Architects, homelessness advocates, and elected officials unveiled that design Tuesday afternoon, at a groundbreaking for Y2Y New Haven at its future Grand Avenue headquarters. The 20-bed youth homeless shelter is a collaboration between Youth Continuum and the Y2Y Network that will expand youth-led, peer-led homelessness services in New Haven.

Second act: Westerly’s United Theatre is morphing into a multi-use arts complex

Today, the nonprofit United Theatre is reinventing itself through an ambitious renovation, with the goal of becoming a multipurpose music, cinema and arts space. The complex will include a 650-seat multi-use auditorium, a three-screen first-run cinema, a full-time music, media and arts-education center, the South County bureau for The Public’s Radio, a restaurant, and more.
