Beside the Point is a 19th century, single-family residence with a historic guest house and a new detached garage located on the Connecticut River. The project involved complete rehabilitation of the existing buildings, construction of alterations and additions, and construction of the new barn-like garage. Structural work at the historic buildings included reinforcing first floor framing, replacing segments of the deteriorated timber sills, alterations to framing for new interior layouts, and reconstruction of roof framing for modern Code requirements.
