55-01 Myrtle Avenue is a 3-story, 20,800 SF mixed-use building with a 2-way reinforced concrete first-floor slab. An existing 1-story building was demolished and replaced with a new structural steel facility at this urban site, where creative solutions were needed for challenges associated with adjacent properties. New foundations are eccentrically loaded to accommodate existing foundations and micropiles were used in some areas to minimize disruption. Detailed coordination was needed for the third floor which houses an MRI suite.
