Sports Kingdome was envisioned to be a recreational center for sports and community events. The two-story, 40,000 SF complex was designed to consist of structural steel framing systems, including moment frames, supported on shallow concrete foundations. As an open-air, multi-functional facility, Sports Kingdome’s design was influenced by many factors, including pedestrian, assembly, and restaurant uses.
