The House Dorms at Suffield Academy include Brodie Hall and South Hall. The two, 12,000 SF buildings have two levels and full basements, and each provide 20 dormitories for the private institution. Framing consists of dimensional & engineered lumber with plywood-sheathed shear walls. Cast-in-place concrete foundations are designed as retaining walls to accommodate the project’s site at the crest of a hill, as well as site elements unifying the two separate structures.
- The red barn at the north side of Brodie Hall is a replication of a historic barn which used to be on site.
