e2 always leave the door open to try something new. We never say no to a new type of job or a different way of doing things, just because we’ve never done it that way before.

I think engineering firms, and the industry as a whole, needs to work towards improving mental health. Stressful tight deadlines, fear of liability, firms that expect and require mandatory overtime, etc. It’s all detrimental. I think e2 sets a great standard in this regard but it would be nice to see that ideology spread.

I was an accounting major in college per the recommendation from my high school counselor. Took my first accounting class a year and a half into college and hated it. Then, I tried a structures class and soon realized this is my true path, and never looked back.

Good communication. When we notice something that needs to be coordinated, or have questions that affect our design, it’s important that we communicate that ASAP. Same for architects. I love when they clearly communicate deadlines of deliverables, expectations, scope changes, design decisions, etc. It helps us do our work better.
