The Connecticut Audubon Society Grassland Bird Conservation Center is a wood-framed structure which incorporates heavy timber members salvaged from an existing c. 1895 barn on site. This structural system was selected to highlight the relationship of the building with the surrounding 700-acre grassland habitat. The Center contains education/lecture halls, classrooms, exhibit areas, and a gallery for nature art.
