The Broadway Plaza Shopping Center is a 2-story, 60,000 SF retail center constructed next to an existing MTA subway line. Poor soil conditions resulted in the use of micro-pile foundations which support cast-in-place concrete pile caps and grade beams. The ground floor slab is also pile-supported and the superstructure is framed with structural steel and bar joist systems.
